Itanagar: Single-day recovery surpassed Covid-19 cases in Arunachal Pradesh on Thursday, with 51 people recuperating from the disease against 45 new cases, a senior health official said here.
This is the highest number of single-day cases reported in the State in the last fortnight.
The virus tally in the State rose to 64,792, while a total of 64,291 people recovered from the infection thus far.
The death toll remained unchanged at 296, with no new fatality recorded in the past 24 hours, State Surveillance Officer (SSO) Dr Lobsang Jampa said.
The State, which remained virus-free for the last couple of months, had been witnessing a surge in Covid-19 cases since July 1, the SSO said.
Among the new cases, 15 were reported from the Capital Complex Region, followed by eight in the Lohit district, five in Namsai and four each in Leparada and West Kameng district respectively, the official said.
Arunachal Pradesh currently has 205 active cases, he said.
The recovery rate stands at 99.23 per cent, while the active ratio stands at 0.32 per cent, Dr Jampa said.
The Lohit district has the highest number of active cases at 64, followed by Namsai (29), West Kameng (17), Papum Pare (15), Leparada (13) and Lower Dibang Valley district at 11 cases.
The Capital Complex Region comprising Itanagar, Naharlagun, Nirjuli and Banderdewa areas has also 35 active cases.
More than 12.77 lakh samples have been tested thus far, including 204 on Wednesday, Jampa added.
