Arunachal Tribal Leaders Meet PM Modi, Arunachal CM Pema Khandu Calls it ‘Memorable’

On Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with tribal community leaders of Arunachal Pradesh and discussed cultural linkages between Arunachal and Gujarat.

NEWS DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with tribal community leaders in Arunachal Pradesh and discussed the cultural ties between Arunachal Pradesh and his home state of Gujarat.

Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu described the meeting as "historic," noting that it was the first time multiple tribal chiefs had the opportunity to see PM Modi, and he praised Modi's unwavering support for Arunachal.

Modi expressed his delight at their coming to Gujarat, noting that Rukmini, Lord Krishna's wife, is thought to be from Arunachal. According to officials, he inquired about their visit to Gujarat, specifically Kevadia and GIFT city.

Hon PM appreciated the deep cultural, historical bonding between our State & Gujarat and learnt about the experiences of CBO members’ visit to the Statue of Unity at Kevadia and GIFT City.”

Khandu further added, “We are also grateful to Hon PM for helping us resolve the decades old border dispute with Assam, where CBO members played gargantuan role. We are treading on development trajectory under the guidance of Hon PM, as our State is witnessing a new sunshine in development of infrastructure.”

Meanwhile, on 16th May, Chandra Shekhar Kumar, Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Panchayati Raj, Government of India inaugurated the newly constructed Panchayat Bhawan cum Common Service Centre in Itanagar, Arunachal.

This large infrastructure project, constructed under the Rashtriya Gramme Swaraj Abhiyaan, is expected to improve the administrative capacity of local Panchayats.
