Assam man arrested for theft of school money in Doimukh, Arunachal Pradesh

The accused worked as a caretaker of the school

Doimukh: A boy from Assam has been arrested for stealing an amount of Rs 2 lakh from Maharishi Residential Public School, Amba, Doimukh under Papum Pare district.

The accused, one Anupal Gogoi belongs to Simalguri, North Lakhimpur district of Assam. The Doimuk police claimed that they recovered the stolen money from the accused. Gogoi was arrested on November 4 by the Investigation Officer of the case SI Balkar Singh, OC PS Doimukh Inspector Inya Ete and the team under the close supervision of Bomken Basar, SDPO, Doimukh and Dr. Neelam Nega, SP, Papumpare (Rural) Dist.

The accused, Gogoi was working as a caretaker of the school. The team of police recovered cash of Rs 20, 000, one motorcycle, a mobile phone and a TV(Sony) from Gogoi, which he purchased from the stolen money.

The stolen money was collected by the school authority as the school fee and for books and uniform.

In another case, a 14-year-old girl, Mondira Narzary who went missing on May 31st from Doimukh was found on November 6 from North Lakhimpur area of Assam by Doimukh police.
