ITANAGAR: The Arunachal Pradesh unit of the BJP on Thursday launched the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign here under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav to mark the 75th year of India's Independence.

The campaign was launched by the party's State unit president Biyuram Wahge at the party office here.

While addressing the party workers, Wahge said that the idea behind the initiative is to invoke the feeling of patriotism and to remember the sacrifices of the people for the country's Independence.

He added that the party would also launch the campaign in every district, block, village and booth level to ensure that the National Flag reaches every household for hoisting during this year's Independence Day.

The party's secretary, Joram Tat, informed that as part of the initiative, the people would be encouraged to hoist the National Flag in their homes to invoke the feeling of patriotism.

"The campaign will give an opportunity to people to involve themselves in the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebration and feel pride for the nation. The people of the State are patriots," he added.

State BJP vice-president Yalam Taga Burang, while participating in the programme, lauded the Centre for launching the campaign and selling national flags to the people.

She added that merely buying the flag is not the purpose and one must own it to accord highest respect and honour. She also urged people to purchase and hoist the National Flag at their residences.
