Benefits of schemes must reach intended beneficiaries: Union Minister Kiren Rijiju

Union minister Kiren Rijiju reviewed on Monday the progress of ongoing development initiatives and welfare schemes being undertaken in the West Kameng district of Arunachal Pradesh.

ITANAGAR: Union minister Kiren Rijiju reviewed on Monday the progress of ongoing development initiatives and welfare schemes being undertaken in the West Kameng district of Arunachal Pradesh. Chairing a District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) meeting virtually, the Minister for Earth Sciences instructed the nodal scheme implementing agencies to fulfil their duties and responsibilities, an official communiqué informed here. Rijiju said that the benefits of the schemes must effectively reach the intended beneficiaries at the grassroots. The minister also said that the beneficiaries should be well informed about the details of the schemes.

In order to ensure smooth implementation, Rijiju said the active involvement of local MLAs and panchayat leaders is essential throughout. West Kameng deputy commissioner Akriti Sagar briefed on the various schemes being implemented in the district. She also shed light on the achievements, challenges, and overall status of the schemes. The meeting was attended by MLAs from Tawang, West Kameng, East Kameng, and Pakke-Kessang districts.
