ITANAGAR: The biography of the first IPS (Indian Police Service) officer from Arunachal Pradesh, Robin Hibu is nearing completion, informed his Delhi-based biographer, Dr Thanmi Khamrang. Robin Hibu is presently serving as Special Commissioner of Delhi Police.
"Writing on this officer, who is global role model, is a Herculean task. I have been carrying out research on him for about 15 hours a day for the last two years," said Dr Khamrang. Adding that Bollywood and Hollywood producers and script writers have evinced keen interest to make a biopic film on him, he, however, stated that such a step will be possible only after the biography is released.
Belonging to the 1993 batch of AGMUT (Arunachal Pradesh-Goa-Mizoram-Union Territory) cadre, Hibu was given out of turn promotion for his unparalleled annual confidential reports, particularly in solving many crimes in record times in the national capital territory of New Delhi. Besides foreign assignments twice, he also served in the Rastrapati Bhavan as the CSO (Chief Security Officer). Moreover, he has funded the NGO -- 'Helping Hands' -- which assists people from the Northeast living across India, whenever they are in distress.
