ITANAGAR: Itanagar Municipal Corporation (IMC) Mayor Tame Phassang on Tuesday said that booth-level leaders of the BJP are very important at the grassroots level, as they are the nuclei of the party and without them the party cannot be strong.
Attending the live screening of the ‘Mera Booth-Sabse Majboot’ campaign, addressed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi from Bhopal, Phassang said that the party has attached priority on booth level leaders as a booth decides the result of an election. The live screening of the campaign was organized at the party’s Capital district office.
Modi during the event addressed more than 3,000 BJP workers selected from across the country who made effective contributions in empowering the booths and interacted with 10 lakh booth-level workers virtually across the country.
Appreciating the Prime Minister and state Chief Minister Pema Khandu for all-round development in the state, the Mayor highlighted various developmental achievements during the nine years of Modi government at the Centre and seven years of Khandu government in the state.
“Various schemes run by the Centre and the state government are aimed at benefiting the people at the grassroots level. All the developmental programmes and policies should reach the targeted people,” he said and urged the party workers to create awareness on the programs and policies of the government at the grassroots level.
Party’s state unit general secretary Nalong Mize in his address said that the Prime Minister launched the campaign, which is the centre point of BJP’s victory strategy. He stressed strengthening the party at the grassroots level and urged upon the workers to visit the booths and interact with the people.
Party’s Capital district president Tarh Soping urged upon the party workers to work sincerely for the greater interest of the people and stressed on strengthening the party organization at the booth level. The campaign was also organized at district, mandal and booth level in the state.
While Khandu along with Union Minister for Earth Sciences Kiren Rijiju attended the event at Tawang, Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein attended at Lumla, party’s state president Biyuram Wahge at Sejiosa, among others.
