ITANAGAR: Capital SP Tumme Ammo along with the Executive Engineer Highway, Itanagar Nani Tath visited the bridge under construction at Division-IV and Abo Tani Colony, Niti Vihar on Sunday.

The SP said that the early completion of the bridge is quite necessary to reduce traffic congestion from Ganga to Bank Tinali. He said that once the bridge is completed the traffic congestion will be minimized by about 30 per cent and will also ease time consumption.

“It will also help the people residing on the other side of the bridge to reach their respective residences in time. As of now, they have to take a long route via Abo Tani colony,” he added.

Amo also informed that the work executing department is slightly late in completing the project; and it is supposed to be completed by the end of October. Earlier the department had assured that the bridge would be completed by September 15 but extended the time till October 15, 2019.

The SP also visited the site for reconstruction of retaining wall for NH-415 near Hotel SC Continental. The construction was initiated earlier after the newly half-constructed retaining wall had collapsed.

He informed that there also dangers from the electric poles standing near the site. The Highway Engineers and Power Department are taking preventive measures to tackle any future consequences, he added.
