Central team visits flood-ravaged areas across Lower Dibang Valley district

ROING: A seven-member Inter Ministerial Central Team (IMCT) visited Lower Dibang Valley district to inspect the damages caused by floods at the Dibang bridge point at Bomjir and the bridge point of the Sisiri River on Tuesday.

The Central team was accompanied by local MLA Gum Tayeng, Secretary of Disaster Management Dani Salu, Director of Disaster Management Atul Tayeng, Deputy Commissioner Mitali Namchoom and other officers.

The Deputy Commissioner submitted a flood damage report of the district consisting of Infrastructure damages caused during the recent floods, which was assessed by the Public Work Department (PWD), Water Resource Department (WRD), Public Health & Engineering Department (PHED) and electrical department.

The IMCT was headed by Joint Secretary of FFR division, Ministry of Home Affairs K. B. Singh, Deputy Secretary of the Department of Rural Development, Ministry of Rural Development Sailesh Kumar, Superintending Engineer of Central Water Commission, Shillong Abhishek Sinha and accompanied by many other high officials from the Central and State governments.
