ITANAGAR: Arunachal Pradesh Agriculture Minister Tage Taki, who was in the national capital to attend the World Dairy Summit 2022, called on Union Minister for Agriculture & Farmers Welfare Narendra Singh Tomar and MoS Kailash Chaudhary recently and discussed various issues and concerns of the agriculture sector of the State and 'desired' intervention of the Centre to mitigate them.

The key points of discussion requiring the intervention of the Union Minister involved the implementation of the PM-Kisan Scheme. "The registration of farmers of the State to reach saturation as per the target of GoI is staggered due to requirement of land documents such as Patta, Khasra etc which are not available with them as the land reform system is different in respect of the State," Taki told the Union Minister.

In response, the Union Minister assured to look into the 'issue' and make necessary amendments to "ease" registration of the Arunachalee farmers under PM-Kisan Scheme.

On the issue of digitization of the agriculture sector under the AGRISTACK programme, Tomar also assured to look into it and initiate necessary changes to suit the State.

Further, the Union Minister "assured' that the Centre would provide all necessary support in terms of technology, finance, and logistical support to augment the agriculture sector in the State for its inclusive growth. He also lauded the State for carrying out the activities in the agriculture sector under various Central Sector Schemes with "visible" growth.
