Checking at wholesalers' warehouses conducted in Arunachal Pradesh

PASIGHAT: Responding to the complaints on price hike in various commodities within the East Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh, Consumer Rights Organization- East Siang unit general secretary Karsu Kakki made a surprise checking at 18 wholesaler warehouses in the district on Monday.

Kakki said that there has been number of complaints in the district on the price hike of various essentials commodities in the district. He said that the organization along with the Department of Legal Metrology and Consumer Affairs (DLM&CA) is making all effort to help the complainants in this the matter.

During his visit to the various warehouses and interacting with the wholesalers, Kakki requested the wholesalers not to sell products above the MRP.

He said that if anyone is found selling any commodity above the MRP, the person will be booked under relevant Act and punished accordingly. The organization also requested the public to be aware of consumer's rights and act accordingly while buying any items.

The organization also requested the consumers to complain any such matter to the department concerned or the district consumer organization.
