ITANAGAR: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Monday expressed satisfaction on the 'Vision Document' prepared by the state Home Department to strengthen the security apparatus of the state.
Addressing the annual conference of superintendents of police (SPs) and commandants of Arunachal Armed Police Battalion (AAPBn) and Indian Reserve Battalion (IRBn) at Tawang, Khandu said that the document was the outcome of the last annual conference.
He said that as informed by the DGP, the focus of the conference would be specially on ten important points to strengthen police organization. He, however, asked the police officers to share their innovative ideas during the technical session.
Stating that the government's priority area is on drug menace, Khandu informed that the government would soon issue notification asking all the State government employees to report about their addiction to drugs if any to their senior officers, after which a date line will would be given after which if any employee found in drug addiction, will have to face legal actions.
The Chief Minister also instructed the SPs to coordinate with local public representatives, eminent personalities and deputy commissioner of their respective district to bring awareness on drug menace and to put effort so that the youth energy are not being wasted in such anti social activities.
Speaking on the occasion, Advisor to Home department NyamarKarbak congratulated the government for modernizing the State police by developing infrastructure, providing better equipments, adequate vehicles and riot control equipments.
Karbak advocated for a better coordination between the IPS and APPS for development of the department.
"The IPS officers after completing their tenure in Arunachal should work as ambassadors of the state while serving in others," Karbak added.
Tourism and IPR Advisor LaisamSimai who, was also present on the occasion, conveyed his gratitude to the chief minister for Flagging-in the 2021 Trans Arunachal Drive on Sunday, organized by the state toursim department.
Simai added that police organization is one of the most important part of any government as it plays a key role in dealing with any kind of situation in the society, besides maintaining law and order.
He expressed his happiness over special focus given by the home department in their vision document to Tirap, Changlang and Longding (TCL) region.
