Chief Secretary reviews road connectivity to remote Tali ADC HQs in Kra Daadi district

ITANAGAR: Keeping the last mile connectivity in view, Arunachal Pradesh Chief Secretary Naresh Kumar on Thursday convened a review meeting in connection to the road connectivity to Tali ADC Headquartersunder Kra Daadi district.

The meeting was held with senior officers of the PWD including its commissioner Kaling Tayeng, Commissioner to Chief Minister Sonam Chombay, Chief Engineer (CZ-A) Hage Apa, Nani Robin SE Yachuli PWD, Nani Tailyang Executive Engineer Tali were also present in the meeting.

The Chief Engineer briefed on the status of road Part 1 being the 69 KM Talariang-Yangte-Tali road and Part 2 being the 10 KM Kabak-Sojam road which is under the PWD.

The Part 1 also comprised of Kumey Bridge on Yangte-Tali road which unfortunately due to an unforeseen thunder wind collapsed on March 28 last.

The bridge was under construction and some 26 numbers of Arch RIBS on the left bank collapsed which needed to be recovered and re-erected. Recovery of the collapsed Arch Ribs has started as per the report submitted by the PWD.

The Chief Secretary asked the department to ensure that the materials used in the construction of the bridge shall not be compromised and to ensure a very high standard of workmanship.

He further directed the Chief Engineer to visit the site and suggest technical corrective measures to be taken while completing the Bridge.

The Chief Secretary also directed the Department officials to appoint an independent agency in order to monitor and check the works and quality of the fabrication and erection of steel structure used in the construction of the Bridge.

He further assured that the requested funds would be made available to complete the Road up to Tali in time, informed an official communiqué here.
