Covid-19: Arunachal Pradesh logs 30 fresh cases

Itanagar: Thirty more people tested positive for Covid-19 in Arunachal Pradesh on Saturday, nine less than the previous day, pushing the virus caseload in the state to 66,383, a senior health official said here.

The Northeastern state on Friday reported 39 fresh infections along with 54 recoveries.

The toll remained unchanged at 296, with no new fatality recorded in the past 24 hours, State Surveillance Officer (SSO) Dr Lobsang Jampa said.

Among the new cases, eight were reported from Namsai district, four from the Capital Complex Region, three each from East Siang and Leparada, two each from Lower Subansiri, Kamle and Dibang Valley and one each from Anjaw, Changlang, Pakke Kessang, Shi-Yomi, Tawang and West Kameng district respectively, the official said.

Arunachal Pradesh currently has 203 active cases, while 65,884 people recuperated from the disease thus far including, 43 on Friday.

The Namsai district has the highest number of active cases at 38, followed by Upper Siang at 27, East Siang (24), Leparada (15) and 13 each in Shi-Yomi and West Kameng districts respectively.

A total of 12,87,049 samples have been tested for Coronavirus in the state thus far, including 259 on Friday, Jampa added.

So far over 18.10 lakh, people have been inoculated with Coronavirus vaccines in the state, State Immunization Officer (SIO) Dr Dimong Padung informed.
