Covid-19: Arunachal Pradesh reports 101 fresh cases, tally at 52,409

ITANAGAR: A total of 101 more persons tested positive for Covid-19 in Arunachal Pradesh, pushing the virus tally in the northeastern State to 52,409. The death toll in the frontier State remained at 259, as no casualty was reported in the northeastern State in the past 24 hours, said State Surveillance Officer (SSO) Dr Lobsang Jampa.

The Capital Complex Region recorded the highest number of fresh cases at 32, followed by West Kameng (8), Upper Siang (7), six each from West Siang, Lohit, Changlang and Papumpare and five each from East Siang and Namsai district.

Four fresh cases were also reported from Kamle, three from Upper Subansiri, two each from Tawang, Pakke Kessang, Lower Subansiri, Dibang Valley and Anjaw and one each from Lower Dibang Valley, Lower Siang and Tirap district respectively.

Among the fresh cases, 89 were detected through rapid antigen tests, 8 through RT-PCR and 4 through TrueNAT methods, the official said adding, 52 people were symptomatic.

The active cases in the state now stand at 1,127.

As many as 136 patients were cured of the disease on Tuesday taking the total number of recoveries in the State to 51,023.

The recovery rate among Coronavirus patients in the State stand at 97.35 per cent while the active percentage stands at 2.15 and the positivity rate at 2.72 per cent.

The Capital Complex Region - comprising Itanagar, Naharlagun, Nirjuli and Banderdewa areas - has the highest number of active cases at 255, followed by Lower Subansiri (113), West Kameng (105), Papumpare (92) and Upper Siang with 81 cases.

Altogether, 10,37,565 samples have been tested for Covid-19 in the state so far, including 3,706 on Tuesday, Jampa said.

Immunisation Officer (SIO) Dr Dimong Padung informed that a total of 9,35,466 people have been administered Covid-19 vaccine doses so far in the state since the inoculation drive began in January this year.
