Covid-19: Single-day recoveries surpass fresh cases in Arunachal Pradesh

Single-day recoveries outnumbered Covid-19 fresh cases in Arunachal Pradesh as 75 more people recuperated from the disease on Thursday, while 54 new infections were registered in the northeastern state, a senior health official said here on Friday. ITANAGAR: Single-day recoveries outnumbered Covid-19 fresh cases in Arunachal Pradesh as 75 more people recuperated from the disease on Thursday, while 54 new infections were registered in the northeastern state, a senior health official said here on Friday. The new cases pushed the virus tally to 54,626, the official said.

As many as 53,931 people have recovered from the disease thus far in the state, State Surveillance Officer (SSO) Dr Lobsang Jampa said. The recovery rate among Covid-19 patients remained at 98.73 per cent while the active percentage at 0.77, he said.

The death toll in the frontier state remained at 276 as no casualties were reported in the past 24 hours, the SSO said.

Arunachal Pradesh currently has 419 active cases.

Lohit district has the highest number of active cases at 80, followed by Tawang (60), Lower Dibang Valley (51), West Kameng (46) and Tirap at 34 cases.

As many as 11,45,519 samples have been tested for Covid-19 so far, including 2,358 on Thursday, Jampa said adding, the positivity ratio in the state stands at 2.29 per cent. According to State Immunisation Officer Dr Dimong Padung, a total of 11,81,160 people have been inoculated thus far in the state.
