COVID-19 tally rises to 16,092 in Arunachal Pradesh

The COVID-19 tally of Arunachal Pradesh rose to 16,092 on Tuesday as 31 more persons tested positive for the infection.

ITANAGAR: The COVID-19 tally of Arunachal Pradesh rose to 16,092 on Tuesday as 31 more persons tested positive for the infection. The single-day recoveries continued to outnumber new cases as 64 more people were cured of the disease, said State Surveillance Officer DrLobsangJampa.

As on date, the State has 1,007 active Coronavirus cases. While 15,036 patients recovered from the disease, 49 others have succumbed to the infection. The recovery rate among the COVID-19 patients in the State has improved to 93.43 per cent. The positivity rate stands at 6.57 per cent and the fatality rate at 0.30 per cent.

The West Kameng district reported the highest number of nine new cases, followed by seven from the Capital Complex Region; six from Namsai; two each from Changlang, Lower Dibang Valley and Lepa Rada; one each from Shi-Yomi, West Siang and Tirap. All the fresh infections were detected during Rapid Antigen Tests.

The Capital Complex region, comprising Itanagar, Naharlagun, Nirjuli and Banderdewa areas, has the highest number of active cases at 671, followed by West Kameng (92) and East Siang (36).

So far, the State has tested 3,51,737 samples for COVID-19, including 1,024 on Monday, added DrJampa.
