ITANAGAR: The vice president of BJP-13th Itanagar Mandal, Yagam Jomoh Tagru has appealed to the Department   to install the street lights in the city and also repair the electric pole, which is on the verge of collapse near the government school at Police Colony here.

Jomoh informed that despite many complaints and even after he approached the officials of the department personnally, there has been no response from the department. She said that the electric pole is posing a threat not only to the students of the school but also to the people residing nearby. "The electric pole can fall anytime causing severe damage to the human and private property," she said, requesting the department to look into the matter at the earliest. Most of the residents in the colony are Personal Security Officers (PSOs) of Ministers.

"Due to the lack of proper street lighting there are chances of robberies in the State capital," she said, adding that the PSOs who return home late may be also vulnerable to such incidents.

"Members of the Colony Women Welfare Organization have made numerous efforts to curb the unwanted gathering of people in the ground near the colony during night time. But the situation is the same as before; and therefore, once the street lights are installed such activities can be controlled to much extent," she pointed out.
