Despite pandemic, Bordumsa-Diyun constituency made progress: MLA Somlung Mossang

BORDUMSA: "Although the global pendamic had almost brought the entire world to a stand still for one-and-half years, Arunachal's Bordumsa -Diyun general constituency in Changlang district and the State of Arunachal Pradesh as a whole was progressing well under the leadership of Chief Minister Pema Khandu and Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein," said Somlung Mossang, the MLA of Bordumsa -Diyun.

Mossang was addressing the people of Bordumsa as chief guest during the celebration of India's 75th Independence Day here at the Bordumsa general playground on Sunday morning. Clad on a Singpho traditional attire, Mossang remembered the brave souls who lost their lives to free the country from the cluthes of the British.

The day-long programme with various colourful agenda was organized by Bordumsa Subdivisional administration under the guidennce of Talo Jerang, the ADC of Bordumsa. The chief guest, while underlining the importance and significance of the day, said that India's Independence was a tyrist with destiny as the struggle for freedom was a long and tiresome one, witnessing the sacrifices of many freedom fighters who had accepted death for the cause of the motherland.

Throwing a brief light on the progress and development of Bordumsa -Diyun area for the past two years, he said,"Despite challenges, roads were built, infrastructural developments took place, and people were adequately taken care of during the COVID-19 pendamic. I have vision and goals for the people of my constituency which will definitely materialize with the blessing of Chief Minister Pema Khandu and Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein in the days to come."

The legislator also lauded the efforts put together by all the frontline COVID warriors and local subdivisional administration who acted as saviours of human lives during the COVID-19 crisis. As a token of appreciation, 28 persons belonging to various NGOs, government staff, including the casual workers under various departments, two Angadwadi workers and three ASHA karmis of the constituency were honoured in public for their meaningful contribution to society.

Besides games and sports activities, the cultural programme presented by school students and commumity-wise participants simply enthralled the audience.
