Itanagar: The District Planning Committee (DPC) of West Kameng district on Monday approved a total of 2109 Gram Panchayat Development Plan (GPDP) schemes for the year 2020-21.
The district with 97 Gram Panchayat has nine blocks in total.
The People’s Plan Campaign (Sabki Yojana Sabka Vikas) had commenced in the district from October 2 last along with the rest of the country, official sources informed.
The People’s Plan Campaign in the state primarily concentrates on preparation of Participatory Development Plan also known as Gram Panchayat Development Plan corresponding to each Gram Panchayat in the district. The GPDP is inclusive of the 18 departments relating to 29 subjects devolved to the PRIs as in the XI Schedule.
Earlier, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Gombu Tsering dwelling on the aims and objectives of the crucial DPC meeting urged the administrative officers, heads of departments of the line department, chairman and member secretaries of the interim committees and panchayat technical assistants to team up in order to make ‘Sabki Yojana Sabka Vikas’ a reality.
The district nodal officer for the GPDP N D Thungon made an elaborate presentation of the schemes incorporated which was later unanimously passed by the DPC.
Among others, all the ADCs, extra assistant commissioners, circle officers attended the meeting, the sources added.
