Diyun leading contributor to GDP of Arunachal through horti-agri proceeds: Chowna Mein

BORDUMSA: "Diyun Circle under Bordumsa subdivision in Changlang district of Arunachal Pradesh has brought almost about a revolutionary change in the production of horticulture, agri and allied activities over a period of time," said Chowna Mein, the Deputy Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh. Mein was addressing the people of Diyun Circle during a meeting held on Tuesday morning at the community hall.

While briefing about the various initiatives of the government in the realms of administration, finance and planning, digital connectivity, roads, rail air ways and technological achievements in the state, the developement-oriented leader said that remote Diyun was the leading contributor to the GDP of the State through horti-agri proceeds.

Mein was accompanied by a host of dignitaries, including Somlung Mossang, the local legislator, Take Ringu, the DGP (OPS, INT and Security ), Dr Devansh Yadav, the DC of Changlang, and other digniatries.

While responding to the multiple issue-based requests of the local MLA, Somlung Mossang made during his welcome address, Mein said that Diyun indeed needed special attention in terms of balanced development. "What I personally feel is the need of a rope way over Nao Dihing River connecting Bordumsa -Diyun for easy mobilization of people and agricultural produce to nearby potential markets in Namsai and Lohit,"said Mein while assuring road connectivity from Dewan to Diyun reducing the physical distance drastically.

"Let the benefits under Article 275 be availed as grant in-aid of revenue to be incurred upon the consolidated fund," suggested Mein, the seniormost leader of the State to the Changlang Deputy Commissioner and local MLA to boost the agrarian economy and the producers.

Terming the general constituency of Bordumsa -Diyun as 'Mini India' being inhabitated by people of various communities maintaining a sense of fraternity, the Deputy Chief Minister also felt the need to enhance the spirits of competitiveness among the aspirants of Eastern Parliamentary constituencies in particular.

Earlier, participating in a series of inaugural programme held at the 2nd IRBN Headquarter in Diyun, Mein highly lauded the efforts of the IRBN jawans and officials lead by IPS Akansha Yadav, the Commandant of the HQ, for developing the amenities. Three Sentry points, one school and a temple was inaugurated by Chowna Mein within the premises of the battalion's HQ.

"The Commandant not only deserves vocal appreciation but ought to be adequately rewarded for championing the cause of the sepoys, their dependents, including children," said Mein, adding"Wwith the consent of the Somlung Mossang, the local MLA, I would like to announce Rs 2 crore for the need-based development of the 2nd IRBN headquarter, thereby calling the attention of the DC Changlang to prepare four projects each worth Rs 50 lakhs for the same."

Somlung Mossang had earlier allocated Rs 10 lakh from the MLA fund for development works in the HQ.
