Drug traffickers arrested in Changlang district of Arunachal Pradesh

Itanagar: In a major haul, the Anti Drug Squad (ADS) in Changlang district of Arunachal Pradesh seized 3.1 kg of opium and arrested two drug traffickers from Namchik Tea garden in the district on Wednesday, police said.

Based on intelligence inputs about the movement of drug traffickers, the Changlang district unit of ADS led by Inspector KM Das along with local youths under the close supervision of SP Mihin Gambo laid a naka and intercepted two motorcycle borne traffickers.

On search as many as 21 packets of suspected contraband opium packed in polythene packet weighing 3.1 kg recovered from their possession, police said. The arrested traffickers were identified as Ongthun Hakhun (27) from Longtom-II village and Nengwang Hakhun (41) from Panchum village under Kharsang circle of the district.
