East Siang District Planning Committee (DPC) holds meet at DC conference hall

PASIGHAT: The District Planning Committee (DPC) meeting was held under the Chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Tayi Taggu for the finalization and approval of Panchayat Development Plans (GPDP & ZPDP) of 116 Gram Panchayats and 14 Zilla Parishads under East Siang District for the financial year 2022-23 at the DC conference hall here on Wednesday.

Chairing the meeting, Deputy Commissioner Tayi Taggu impressed upon the need to prepare evidence-based holistic and inclusive plans. He also called for conducting Gram Sabhas regularly with the frontline functionaries of all the line departments to facilitate the convergence of schemes.

Attending the meeting, Zilla Parishad Chairperson Olen Rome emphasized the importance of the Gram Panchayat Development Plan and Zilla Panchayat Development Plan to the house present.

The meeting started with the address by Tatdo Borang, ADC-cum-Member Secretary (ZP) who briefed the house regarding the aims and objectives of the meeting.

PD-cum-DPDO Tajing Padung in his address elaborated on the objectives of the Panchayat Development Plan (GPDP & ZPDP). He also informed the house about the final comprehensive plan for 2022-23 which requires final approval of the DPC (PR), prepared inclusive of 18 Line Departments relating to 29 subjects devolved to the PRIs as in the XIth Schedule of the Constitution.

DNO (PFMS) Onyok Sitang, presented the proposed schemes through PPT and read out exercises carried out by the Department of Panchayati Raj since the launch of the People's Plan Campaign on 2nd October 2021.

He also suggested the members scrutinize the proposals and make rectifications, if any, before final approval by the House.
