Education Minister Taba Tedir Lays Stress On Hard Work, Discipline

Arunachal Pradesh Education Minister Taba Tedir on Thursday exhorted the students to uphold the values of discipline and hard work and urged them to strive for excellence in all spheres of life.

Addressing the concluding day of the three-day annual function of the Dera Natung Government College (DNGC) here, he urged upon the students to abstain from drug abuse which, he said, would ruin their life.

The Minister highlighted the positive changes that have been made in education sector of the State under the New Education Policy 2020.

He encouraged the students to pursue what they love doing because only then would they shine and contribute positively in the State's development.

Local MLA Techi Kaso, in his address, shared the fact that people from the previous generation worked hard in uplifting the State in various fields, despite of humble beginnings and lack of resources. He implored the students to take inspiration from the earlier generation and move forward with new hopes and ambition to contribute to the State.

The MLA also advised them to lead an exemplary life and to keep themselves away from drugs. Earlier, in his welcome address, principal of the college Dr MQ Khan highlighted the achievements of both the past and present students of the college. He entreated the students to be the torchbearers of peace as only a peaceful State can prosper.

Dr Khan also shed light on the fact that DNGC, being situated at the State capital, could play a pivotal role in creating peace and harmony as students from various parts of the State study in this college, thereby creating the spirit of Pan-Arunachal. The theme for this year was 'Health, Harmony and Happiness' to acclaim the spirit with which the society faced and triumphed over the COVID-19 pandemic. For the college day celebrations, the students were divided into four Houses in the names of four mighty rivers of the State - Tirap, Lohit, Siang and Subansiri.

The students got the opportunity to exhibit their talents in literary, sports and cultural activities.Siang House emerged as the Champion and Lohit House was adjudged as the most disciplined house.
