ROING: The Election Commissioner (ECI) Arun Goel on a tour to the Lower Dibang Valley district visited the 21- Bolung polling station at GHSS, Bolung, and 16- Roing-I polling station at the GHSS, Roing and interacted with the AEROs, BLOs, and voters of the area.
He reviewed the detailed data of the polling station and queried about the procedures followed for the verification of voter details and the preparedness of the personnel.
During a meeting with the DEO, EROs, and AEROs, Arun Goel advised the officers to try for 100% enrolment of the eligible voters in the electoral roll in the district to improve the Electors Population Ratio (EPR).
He stressed the purification of E-Roll and asked all to take efforts in ensuring that all genuine dead, shifted and absent voters should be deleted after following the due process.
DEO cum DC Soumya Saurabh gave a brief about the district and the electoral statistics of the Lower Dibang Valley district. She assured to work towards cent per cent enrolment of genuine voters in the district.
Meanwhile, ERO cum EAC Pime Keche suggested the VVPATs be made more robust to do away with the problems faced during elections due to their sensitivity in use in Arunachal Pradesh, where the terrain is difficult.
