Engineer arrested in Arunachal Pradesh PSC question paper leak case

ITANAGAR: The special investigation cell (SIC) of the Arunachal Pradesh Police has arrested one Abu Pertin (37) in connection to the question paper leakage in APPSC-2017 and other examinations on Wednesday.

Pertin is an Assistant Engineer in PWD, Dambuk sub-division of the Lower Dibang Valley district. With the arrest of Pertin, the total arrest in the case as of now is 32.

SP (SIC) Anant Mittal said that Abu Pertin was arrested after detailed interrogation and technical and financial analysis. And the case is registered in SIC (Vigilance) case number.12/2022 U/S 120(B)/420/406/409 IPC R/W Sec.7/8/13 (2) PC Act. 1988, (Pertaining to question paper leakage in APPSCCE-2017. He said the case was registered in SIC (VIG) police station on October 19, 2022, on the basis of an FIR lodged by various deprived candidates of the APPSCCE-2017 examination. Further, all complaints related to other various exams conducted by the APPSC from 2014 onwards have been amalgamated with the instant case for detailed investigation.

Mittal also said that the SIC investigation into the paper leak matter is ongoing, and all facts of the case are being investigated in detail. All legal formalities and norms of professionalism are being maintained during the investigation.
