ITANAGAR: Arunachal Pradesh Home Minister Bamang Felix on Tuesday directed state government officials to ensure that the benefits of various central and state flagship programmes, reach to the last man in the state.

The minister while reviewing the implementation of all Prime Minister and Chief Minister's flagship programme in his home constituency Nyapin, in Kurung Kumey district, expressed dissatisfaction over low enrolment of eligible beneficiaries under a few central and state flagship programmes.

"Depriving eligible beneficiaries of their rights and benefits is a crime against humanity," the minister said and directed all officers to undertake rectification measures and make progress. Emphasizing undertaking field visits, Bamang Felix said that officials should not depend on beneficiaries to turn up and instead make it a point that they reach out to the eligible beneficiaries, wherever required.

He directed the Kurung Kumey DC to conduct review meetings every fortnight with the departmental heads and report its progress and achievements for the e-pragati meetings which is held every month by Chief Minister Pema Khandu. The minister further suggested the departmental heads to involve panchayats for every beneficiary-oriented scheme.

"Departmental heads and panchayats should open a communication line and cooperate with each other in identifying and motivating eligible beneficiaries through field visits and awareness initiatives," Felix suggested.

"Our effort should be towards making Kurung Kumey 'Atma Nirbhar' by meeting up with the aspirations and expectations of the people," the minister said while assuring all possible support and assistance from his end.

Taking part in the meeting, NHIDCL General Manager Col Prabhakar Kumar informed that construction works under Package 3 to 6 of the Joram-Koloriang road including bridges would be completed in all respect by January 31, next year. As for Package 7 and 8 which is facing unexpected hurdles in the form of sliding zones at various different locations, Col Kumar informed that it would be sorted out post monsoon.

Responding to the direction of Felix, Col Kumar assured to establish camps at all the sinking zone sites with proper machineries to ensure uninterrupted flow of traffic along the Joram-Koloriang road.
