Entrepreneurs advised to export produce to international market

ITANAGAR: Arunachal Pradesh Trade and Commerce Secretary Hage Tari on Monday urged upon the entrepreneurs including farmers of the state to go for exporting their products in the international market.

Reiterating Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of converting each district of the country into a global export hub, Tari advised the entrepreneurs to enroll for obtaining export license. Speaking at a seminar on promoting exports from Arunachal Pradesh under developing districts as export hub program, the secretary asked them to focus on e-commerce which he said, would help in eliminating middle men.

The seminar was organized to facilitate export of products made in the state. Trade & Commerce Director Sonyung Modi in his address said that there is an urgent need to bring Arunachal Pradesh into the export map. Highlighting the quality infrastructure in the state including airport and surface communication, Modi said that there is no dearth of good quality produces worth exporting in the state. He asked the entrepreneurs and farmers to learn the procedure of exporting so that the need of middlemen is done away with. He also requested them to attend and participate in buyers sellers meet that would facilitate them to meet potential investors.

Citing the example of the government approved Special Economic Zone (SEZ) at Changlang, Modi said such initiatives would facilitate export and boost the economy of the state. Head of Federation of Indian Export Organization (FIEO) Kaushik Dutta in his deliberation shared the objective of the seminar which was to sensitize the entrepreneurs and district level officers and equip them with information regarding exporting the produces.

Industries Director Taru Talo requested the bankers to identify potential entrepreneurs and come forward with credit facilities. He also requested the entrepreneurs to ensure that their quality is at par with international standards. The programme was organized by FIEO in association with state trade & commerce department.
