BORDUMSA: The people of Vijaynagar — the last strip of the most sensitive and unexplored land along the International border with China — heaved a sigh of relief on Tuesday afternoon after the essential commodities reached them here through air service — the only mode of transportation from Maio to Vijaynagar.
Miao MLA Kamlung Mossang who is also the seniormost Cabinet Minister of the Arunachal Government told The Sentinel in a telephonic interaction, “The essential commodities are being airlifted regularly these days to take care of the Vijaynagar people under Miao circle in Changlang District. All essential and basic requirements for human survival including medicines, hygiene mask, senitizers, rice, salt, dal have been distributed among the people. Though no such case of COVID-19 has been reported or detected, yet preventive measures and awareness campaigns have been intensified in the Miao-Vijaynagar areas. I extend my regards to all the personnel involved in this exercise.”
Vijaynagar is a very remote circle in the headwater of Noa-Dihing River and the eastern extremity of Changlang District in Arunachal Pradesh. It is a narrow mountain valley nestled in the Kachin Hills of Myanmar.
