LONGDING: The Assam Rifles, in an effort to support and provide knowledge to the Wancho community of the Longding district on agriculture, on Monday, organised a 5 days farmers’ tour to Assam Agriculture University (AAU), Jorhat and Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), Shillong. The Wancho farmers tour was earlier flagged off by the local MLA Tanpho Wangnaw in the presence of local PRI leaders and officials of the Assam Rifles.

The AR official in a statement informed that the tour is an effort to support and uplift the farmers of the district in the agricultural sector. It will also provide valuable exposure and knowledge to farmers in remote areas of longding districts in promoting sustainable farming practices and fostering rural development.

“The farmers’ tour has been carefully designed to empower farmers with practical knowledge and skills that will enable them to enhance their agricultural productivity and improve their livelihoods,” the communique stated.
