Arunachal Pradesh: Farmers Training Programme on Oil Palm Cultivation Inaugurated in Roing

ROING: A Farmers Training Programme on Oil Palm Cultivation Practises was inaugurated by DC Soumya Saurabh in the presence of Former Vice Chancellor (Tamil Nadu Agriculture University) Dr. N. Kumar and a team of Scientists from ICAR-IIOPR, Pedavege, led by Principal Scientist Dr. M. Prasad, District Agriculture Officer Balung Mengu, and officials from the Agriculture Department on Friday.

The training is being conducted by 3F Oil Palm Pvt. Ltd. in collaboration with the District Agriculture Office, Roing, for the benefit of the Oil palm farmers. The day also witnessed the start of the Mega Oil Palm Plantation Drive and seedling distribution programme, presently running under the Government of India's flagship scheme, National Missions on Edible Oils-Oil Palm (NMEO-OP), by handing over Oil Palm seedlings to progressive farmers of LDV. Dr. N. Kumar urged the farmer community to avail themselves of the opportunity of the presence of eminent scientists to clear their doubts. The Scientist from IIOPR provided training to the Oil Palm farmers of LDV regarding various technical aspects and husbandry practises of Oil Palm cultivation.
