SAGALEE: Former Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh, Nabam Tuki inaugurated a steel bridge measuring 75 metres over river Pare, connecting Rigo and Nimte village in Sagalee Circle on Wednesday.

The bridge constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 7 crore is funded by RIDF with a carriageway of 4.25 metres and executed by the Tama Fabrication Works of Naharlagun.

Speaking to the reporters, Tuki said that the bridge served as the lifeline of both the village and it will now ease communication among the villagers and also facilitate other developmental activities.

Nabam Tuki has been making all efforts to provide quality education as well as a better living to the people.

Terming better roads and other connectivity as the mother of all development, Tuki appealed to the villagers to maintain the bridge.

He also said that better road connectivity will automatically bring other development in the village as well as bring forth the economic condition of people.

"More than 13 such bridges have been constructed in my Constituency. Now, only a few such bridges remain to be completed. I hope that the other projects will be completed soon," he said.

Pointing out that work of the Engineering College at Toru was earlier put on halt due to some reasons, Tuki added, ''But now, the construction work has been started. Likewise, the women ITI institute in the Constituency has been completed; and we hope that with the posting of the Principal in this institute, it will become functional soon."

Among others present on the occasion were Sagalee ADC Audil Toko, and Bobia-Sagalee Circle Superintendent Engineer, Hage Bida.
