Arunachal Pradesh Govt Issues New Orders After Meeting With SDMA

The government of Arunachal Pradesh, amidst surging cases of COVID-19 in the state, has implemented few key decisions in an attempt to further curb the spread of this deadly infectious disease.

The government of Arunachal Pradesh, amidst surging cases of COVID-19 in the state, has implemented few key decisions in an attempt to further curb the spread of this deadly infectious disease. 

Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh, Shri Pema Khandu, after conducting a meeting with the State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA) today announced the key decisions that were taken, keeping in mind the ghastly effect of the second wave of the coronavirus pandemic in India. 

The decisions taken are as follows: 

1. There will be no charge for accommodation in all CCC for BPL & students.

2. There will be no charge for testing of primary contact and random testing.

3. Containment measures are to continue in ICR till May 31st.

4. The statewide containment measures have been revised.

5. All shops and establishments to close by 2:00 PM.

6. The districts with higher positivity rates to have more stringent containment measures. 

In the last 24 hours, 264 people in Arunachal Pradesh have tested positive for the novel coronavirus, bringing the total number of cases in the state to 21,373, with the death toll increasing to 77 as five more people succumbed to the deadly infectious virus. According to a bulletin released by the State Directorate of Health Services, Itanagar Capital Complex had the most positive cases with 85, Changlang had 37, and Lower Dibang Valley had 26. 

All the patients, with the exception of 47, were asymptomatic. Out of the five COVID-induced fatalities reported, one was a minor.
