Har Ghar Tiranga campaign by Adi organizations of East Siang District

PASIGHAT: The Adi Bané Kébang (ABK) and Adi Bané Ané Kébang (ABAK) District Unit of East Siang launched the Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign under the aegis of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav commemorating the 75th Anniversary of Indian Independence on 13th August 2022 in the ABK HQ Office (Doying Gumín) Pasighat-East Siang (AP).

As usual, the programme started with the singing of the Adi Anthem, "Ngolu Adié… léndak A:dak lokké..."

The sole motto of organizing the campaign is to encourage the people to bring the tricolour home and confidently hoist it to mark the 75th year of India's Independence all over India and abroad.

While briefing the gathering, Shri Upok Ratan, the Vice-President of Adi Bané Kébang-ESDU said that the relationship with the National Flag has always been more formal and institutional than personal. He said that bringing the Flag home collectively as a nation during this 75th year of Independence means a lot and thus becomes symbolic of not only an act of personal connection to the Tricolour but also a manifestation of our commitment to nation-building, adding that the idea behind this campaign was to promote mass awareness about the coveted Tricolour.

While distributing the National Flags to all the attending members, Smty Oming Jamoh Pertin, the President-ABAK, said that the Tiranga is a symbol of pride and honour for every Indian which represents national integrity and signifies the hopes and aspirations of the crores of Indian people.

Under the Har Ghar Tiranga Abhiyan, the government of India has urged the people to hoist the Tiranga in their homes from 13th to 15th August 2022 so as to participate in the celebration of 75 years of India's Independence since British colonial rule in India.

In the wake of this campaign, the ABK & ABAK-East Siang District Unit hoisted the Tricolour in the office of Adi Bané Kébang HQ (Doying Gumín) Pasighat with an aim to involve the feeling of oneness and patriotism in the hearts of its people whom they are leading for.

The ABK & ABAK also clarified that earlier, the Indian citizens were not allowed to hoist the Tricolour on all days, except on national importance days or special occasions but now, with pride, they can hoist it and, there is no restriction on the timing of flag display and, any Indian citizen or private organization or any educational institution can hoist the National Flag on all days or occasions with respect and without distorting the colour or sequence of the colour strip thereof.

Meanwhile, the campaign was also launched from Abor Lireng, Ayeng village at Mebo near here in a befitting manner and Tiranga was hoisted by Chairperson, East Siang Zilla Parishad Olen Rome, gracing the occasion.

The program was organized by Sub-Divisional Administration under the aegis of AKAM, the program was attended by villagers, GBs, students, senior personalities, PRI members & government officers.

The Abor Li:reng located at Ayeng village is built in memory of Late Borkeng Tayeng and late Kebo Tayeng, the father and the son respectively. Late Borkeng Tayeng lost his life in the hands of British sepoys at Mijomghat(named after J.F Needham).

Late Kebo Tayeng assassinated subedar Anayat Khan of the British army at Yetek yepu, near Bodak village, a base camp of the British expedition to control Damroh village the headquarter of Abors where all policies and war strategies against Britishers were taken.

Later Kebo Tayeng was killed by the British at Ayeng village when the Britishers failed to controlled Damroh and we're returning to Sadiya. This incident happened after the Anglo-Abor War of Dambuk.
