BORDUMSA: "The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is the only capable party that can rule the multi-tribe dominated state of Arunachal Pradesh harmoniously and led the state peacefully towards the zenith of progress and development promoting a sense of solidarity and fraternity among the people," asserted Pema Khandu, the Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh.

Khandu was addressing the people of the Adivasi community and other tribal people of Namsai and Changlang district on the occasion of the 147th birth anniversary of Veer Birsa Munda, observed as Janajatiya Gaurav Divas, at Lekang's Kumari village in the Namsai district on Tuesday afternoon.

Khandu, who unveiled a mammoth statue of the legendary freedom fighter, Birsa Munda at Lekang, was accompanied by Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein, Tapir Gao, MP, along with many MLAs. Khandu underlined the ascending developmental graph successfully accomplished and said that two-lane road connectivity projects were in the pipeline.

Urging the tribal people of the state to imbibe in them the qualities and virtues of Birsa Munda, Khandu said that the patriot was one of the unsung heroes of the nation whose contribution had not been adequately recognized and honored by the previous government at the Centre. "It is due to Modiji's initiatives that all such unsung heroes and their contributions are being scripted today with golden words," said the CM.

"I will request the people of Lekang, particularly the youth, to stand by the seniormost leader of Arunachal Pradesh, Chowna Mein who has been initiating steps for the preservation of rich tribal culture, history, and identity, besides scripting the rich legacy of the tribal forefather," said Khandu.

Meanwhile, MP Tapir Gao, while recalling the importance of preserving tribal culture, urged the youth on positive aspects of handling mobile phones and urged the youths not to go by the undesirable contents intended to be circulated with bias and prejudiced objectives. According to him, dharnas, protests, and agitations against the government would not yield any desirable ends. 'Khandu's government in Arunachal is safe, robust, and unshakeable, it has miles to go serving the state and its people," said the MP.

Among the MLAs of the nearby constituencies present included Somlung Mossang, independent MLA of Bordumsa-Diyun, Chow Zingnu Namchoom, the MLA of Namsai, Jummum Ette Deori, MLA of Lekang, Karikho Kri, MLA of Tezu, Mutchu Mithi, the MLA of Roing, MLA of Khonsa, Chakat Aboh and Gum Tayeng, the MLA of Dambuk.
