One of three crew members sustain minor injuries

ITANAGAR: An MI-17 helicopter of the Indian Air Force (IAF) during its regular ration maneuver crash landed at Rochham helipad here on Thursday.

The helicopter was carrying a regular ration maneuver from Hyualiang to Rochham when the incident occurred.

There were two pilots and three crew members on the helicopter. Reportedly, one of the engineering crew sustained minor injuries, while the rest of the members is safe.

The ITBP troops of Rochham post immediately rushed to the spot and executed the rescue operation. Due to the impact, the entire body of the helicopter was damaged. Squadron leader Reddy and Kartik Patni were flying the helicopter.

According to the ANI, a court of inquiry will be ordered to ascertain the reason for the incident. In a tweet, the ANI wrote, 'An IAF Mi-17 helicopter today crash-landed in eastern Arunachal Pradesh with 2 pilots&3 crew members. All are safe. Helicopter was carrying out an air maintenance sortie when the incident took place. Court of inquiry will be ordered to ascertain the reasons for the incident: Sources'.
