ITANAGAR: The Regional Outreach Bureau (ROB) celebrated the Indian Constitution Day observed at Vivekanda Central School here on Tuesday. Chairman of the school Suresh Babu, Principal Rajmohan & all school teachers & students of 6-10th class participated in the meeting. Director ROB Dr HR Keshavamurthy explained the composition of Indian Constitutions & said that the preamble summarizes the substance of the whole document. He read out the preamble along with students and briefed them about various Fundamental Rights and Directive Principles which include fundamental duties of the citizens of India.
He urged the students to dedicate themselves for nation building and preserve and protect the rich cultural heritage, environment; unity, integrity and security of the country.
He also advised them to abide by the Constitution and respect its ideals and institutions of the National Flag and the National Anthem and be ready to defend the country and render national service if called upon to do so.
He also asked them to promote harmony and the spirit of brotherhood amongst all the people transcending religion, linguistic and regional, sectional diversities and protect dignity of women. He also urged them to safeguard public property and abjure violence.
