Itanagar: The increasing inter-tribe marriage among different communities of the state is an encouraging trend to foster unity, mutual trust and oneness among various tribes of the state. One such marriage ceremony in between Moli Lollen with Duyu Amung Lollen exposed various facets of marriage system in Galo and Apatani communities.
The ceremony not only offers insights into each other’s custom and practices but reflective of how best inter-tribe marriage can be promoted by respecting each other’s way of life, an official release informed here on Tuesday. The 45 members of Apatani marriage party led by Nani Hanya, Duyu Lampung and Duyu Tacho with traditional attires and items on their backs landed at Kombo Pomte village and they are here from Decmber 16 to 18.
The visiting marriage team too were cordially received at village with traditional Galo way by making ritual sacrifice and chanting for the well being of the couples and family members.
The Apatani marriage team are on house to house invitations by well wishers from dawn to dusk for days together as per prevailing Galo tradition, the release added.
