Itanagar Police recovered 15 stolen two-wheelers; 1 arrested

ITANAGAR: The Capital Police recovered 15 stolen two-wheelers and arrested a person in connection with the case (22/2022 u/s 379 IPC) at Chimpu Police Station.

In its press statement, the police said that acting on the written FIR received from one P Amo that her scooter was stolen by an unknown person from Statistic Colony, Itanagar, accordingly a case has been registered at Chimpu PS Police Station.

After a rigorous search in the entire Itanagar Capital region and with the help of a reliable source a suspect, Nabam Sakap (20) of Jote village, was apprehended. During interrogation, he disclosed that he was involved in many two-wheeler lifting cases from different locations within the capital and later sold them to buyers at cheap rates of around Rs 6,000 to Rs 15,000.

A police team led comprising Inspector Melia Mibang, ASI Taya Marde, ASI Mishra, Head Constable Hemu, HC Sangey, HC Tate, CT Ado, CT Leya, CT Payeng, CT Dirkhipa, CT Perme, CT Teaching, CT Sambyo under the close supervision of SP Capital Jimmy Chiram(IPS), and SDPO Itanagar Kamdam Sikom, conducted raids at various location of Jote Village, Jumi Village, NIT, Kanebung and Inderjuli area on 13th and 14th June last. During the ride, police recovered 14 stolen scooty and a bike.

Meanwhile, SP Capital appeals to the denizens of the Capital Complex to be more cautious while parking their vehicles during the night hour and also requested them to inform the police about such antisocial elements immediately by calling ERSS 112.
