Itanagar: MLA Tapuk Taku has exhorted the Gorkha community to maintain unity, peace and love among tribal communities for overall development of the State.
Attending the third foundation day and maiden general conference of the East Kameng Gorkha Welfare Society (EKGWS) held at Buddhist Gompa at Seppa on Wednesday, Taku said that Gorkha is the only community which walked along with the locals in terms of social and infrastructural development of the district.
“I always treat the community as my family. Therefor the indigenous tribals of the district should always respect and remember the great contribution of the community,” he said while requesting all the people to maintain brotherhood and peace.
Taku said that a society is one of the most integral parts of human life life.
“One should be clear that among various indispensible parts of life, society too is equally important. In a society the members have greater responsibility,” he added.
The MLA requested the youths, seniors and executive members of the EKGWS to work in close coordination.
“Maintain brotherhood, harmony and unity in multi-cultural and multi-ethnic society in the district,” he said adding, since the people of the district have welcomed the community as a part of the family, the community should shoulder the responsibility of making East Kameng a better place to live in.
Taku praised the Gorkha youths for upholding the tradition and constituting a united front to address the issues faced by the community. He also urged all to maintain the tempo to preserve the culture and tradition of the Gorkhas.
