Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh will have an error-free electoral roll if electors’ verification program (EVP) is carried out by all electoral registration officers properly, Deputy Chief Electoral Officer (Dy CEO) Liken Koyu said. He said this during a hands-on training for EVP, ERONET and BLONET APP for the district-level master trainer (DLMT) and IT staff in CEO office here. The EVP and other activities would be carried out during special summary revision with January 01, 2020 as qualifying date, he said and asked all DLMTs to inform their respective electoral registration officers (EROs) to dispose of all forms in ERONET as per timeline to be given by the CEO.
He urged all political party to appoint booth-level leaders and workers to assist people living in their jurisdiction for getting enrolment in the electoral roll. State-level master trainer (ERONET) Sandip Banerjee gave a powerpoint presentation on EVP, ERONET, and BLONET before there was practical training on ERONET. It may be mentioned here that special summary revision will start with pre-revision activities like EVP and house to house verification from September 1 to 30 next.
The draft photo electoral roll will be published on October 15 next. Period for filing claims and objections would be October 15 to November 30, disposal of claims and objections would be done by December 15 next for final publication of electoral roll between January 1 to 15 next year, Koyu added.
