All the MLAs, officers, officials and security personnel on duty will have to undergo compulsory RDT-Antigen test at the testing kiosk to be set by the Health department during the session, Assembly sources informed here on Monday.

The decision for the compulsory COVID-19 test was taken during a meeting convened by Speaker Pasang Dorjee Sona on Monday with the officers from health department, district administration, police, Itanagar Municipal Council, ITBP and officials from Tomo Riba Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (TRIHMS), the sources said.

In the meeting discussions were held on planning and arrangements to be made for the Monsoon session of the assembly which would conclude on August 29.

Detailed COVID-19 Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and security-related arrangements during the session were also discussed.

Stressing on the strict adherence to COVID-19 SoPs, the Speaker stated that the effort should not be only to detect the possible positive cases but also to stop its spread.
