ROING: Tourism, Transport and Civil Aviation Minister Nakap Nalo along with the legislators from Dambuk and Roing constituency, Gum Tayeng and Mutchu Mithi respectively, inspected the quarantine facility in the district on Sunday.
The 'High Level Check-gate Quarantine Facilities Management Committee' was also accompanied by GM (APST) Abu Tayeng, DC Mitali Namchoom, SP SK Sain and DMO Dr Radesh Tatan during the visit at Shantipur Check gate in Lower Dibang Valley (LDV) district.
The Minister checked the operation of basic facilities in the Centre and whether it was rady to accommodate the returnees from other parts of the country, especially the students and other persons who will be subsequently sent to their respective districts for institutional quarantine.
Nakap Nalo requested the frontline workers to regularly update the data flow chart of people visiting the district.
MLA Mutchu Mithi spoke on need for community policing to regulate the movement of people in the porous borders. He also asked the DA to explore the possibility of paid quarantine facility in the district.
Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner Mitali Namchoom briefed the committee on the detailed SOP followed and manpower placement of various departments at the Shantipur Check Gate. She also highlighted the problem faced of return of people to the Paglam area via the porous borders and the Pobo and Amarpur ghats.
