ITANAGAR: Arunachal Pradesh Land Management Minister Nakap Nalo launched the online e-stamping system at the civil secretariat here on Wednesday. With the launch, the northeastern state became the 24th state in the country to adopt the online e-stamping system and e-registration fee collection services. Terming the launch of the system as historic, Nalo said e-stamping will not only save time and stress for the citizens but will also solve the problem of revenue leakage. He lauded the land management department headed by secretary A. K. Singh and director Mamata Riba for achieving yet another milestone in the digital journey of the state. Nalo said that since all fees would be collected online, the chances of mismanagement of funds would be considerably lower. He added that the burden and stress on department officers would be lessened, as earlier these officers had to travel to get the stamp papers.

The minister said that digitalization has paved the way for the state to grow by leaps and bounds along with the rest of the states. Sharing chief minister Pema Khandu’s vision, he said the government needs dedicated, honest, and sincere bureaucrats who can bring the government’s vision into reality. Stockholding Corporation of India Limited regional manager (eastern region) K Bhattacharya informed that the decision to opt for e-stamping was taken in light of various scams that took place at the beginning of the last decade. Bhattacharya said a distinctive growth in revenue collection and visible customer satisfaction could be felt in the states where e-stamping has already been launched. He thanked the state government for bringing in this much-needed digital revolution.
