Mothers infected with COVID-19 delivers healthy babies in Arunachal Pradesh

The operations were conducted by a team of doctors led by gynaecologist Dr Binpi Karlo

Pasighat: Although the number of coronavirus cases have been rising in Arunachal Pradesh, the news of two COVID-19 patients giving birth to healthy babies have lifted the spirit of the patients as well as the COVID-19 warriors.

Two COVID-19 pregnant women underwent surgeries at the dedicated Covid Hospital in Pasighat on Saturday. The headquarters of East Siang district, Pasighat is about 260km from Itanagar, the capital of Arunachal Pradesh.

A 35-year-old woman from Aalo was admitted on Thursday, delivered a healthy baby after undergoing Lower Segment Caesarian Section (LSCS) operation. Another woman from Jarku, who was admitted on Friday also underwent a LSCS operation.

Both the operations were conducted by a team of doctors, led by gynaecologist Dr Binpi Karlo. The East Siang district medical officer Dr Kaling Dai congratulated the team of doctors for saving the lives of the patients by putting their's on risk. The procedures were tough as both the doctors and nurses had to wear PPE kits.

On Friday, another woman of 38-years surgery and gave birth to a healthy baby.
