Arunachal Pradesh: NABARD-Sponsored Training for Sewing Machine Operator Concludes in Changlang District

The NABARD-sponsored skill development programme on ‘sewing machine operator’ successfully concluded at the Tibetan Refugee Camp at Miao in Changlang district

ITANAGAR: The NABARD-sponsored skill development programme for ‘sewing machine operator’ successfully concluded at the Tibetan Refugee Camp at Miao in Changlang district on Monday. The programme was implemented by the Bethel Life Care Charitable Trust (BLCCT) in collaboration with the Choephelling Tibetan Service Cooperative Society Ltd. (CTSCSL). More than 30 unemployed rural women from the Tibetan settlement participated in the comprehensive training programme, which spanned 47 days. The training followed the National Standard Quality Framework (NSQF)-aligned curriculum of the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC). The programme was aimed at equipping the trainees with the necessary skills to become proficient sewing machine operators and providing them with opportunities for income generation.

CTSCSL Secretary Tenzing Rabjor congratulated the trainees for successfully completing the SDP training. He commended NABARD and BLCCT for their joint efforts in implementing the skill development programme. The trainees showcased their beautifully crafted garments of various designs, and the BLCCT recognized the top five designs with awards. The district administration, in collaboration with BLCCT, also contributed 10 sewing machines to support the trainees in their future endeavours. NABARD DDM Kamal Roy highlighted the developmental interventions of the bank in the district and praised the trainees for their accomplishments. He expressed confidence that the acquired skills would enable them to establish their own businesses or secure employment within the garment industry.
