ITANAGAR: The National People's Party (NPP) national general secretary James Sangma said that the party was raised from the region, for regional aspirations and by the people of the region, and it was the only option for the people of the Northeast to raise their voice in national politics.

Addressing media persons, James further said that there was need to have a common voice and everyone had to come together to fulfil regional aspirations. "By the time the voice of the people of the Northeast reaches Delhi, it just becomes inconsequential. So the need of the hour is to come together. Though we may have differences but we have to come together and that is the only way for the voice of the Northeast to be heard," added Sangma .

National spokesperson of NPP, Abhay Kayshab said that the party would give equal support to every State. "Our motive is to be the voice of the people of the Northeast so that their challenges and aspirations can be conveyed in Delhi," he said.

While briefing about the scheduled conclave, State president of NPP, Mutchu Mithi said, "We are not against any political party but we are raising issues faced by Arunachal and other north-eastern States."
