Nehru Yuva Kendra organized COVID-19 awareness drive at Pangin

Volunteers of the Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK) along with the Youth Club members of Pangin town organized a three-day awareness campaign on cleanliness and ways to against the COVID-19 pandemic, at Pangin in Siang district.

ITANAGAR: Volunteers of the Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK) along with the Youth Club members of Pangin town organized a three-day awareness campaign on cleanliness and ways to against the COVID-19 pandemic, at Pangin in Siang district.

The campaign that had commenced on October 17 concluded on Monday. It was undertaken with an intensive programme to make the villagers aware of the need for a clean and green village and COVID-19 campaigns at Yeksi village and Bibok colony of Pangin town.

Participating in the campaign, Extra Assistant Commissioner Pangin Vijoy Tamuk appreciated the efforts of NYK of Pasighat. He also appealed to the people to take responsibilities to further spread the message of cleanliness.

He also spoke on the COVID-19 pandemic and asked the people to stop stigmatization of the Corona warriors. He said that the Corona warriors need appreciation for their work as well as support by the public to contain the spread of the infection further.

Distributing the face masks, district youth coordinator of NYK-Pasighat Tapun Taki appealed to the public to maintain social distancing, use face masks, practice regular washing of hands using soaps and to strictly adhere to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to contain the spread of Coronavirus.

He informed that during the three days of continuous awareness campaign drive, six new Youth Clubs and Self Help Groups (SHGs) were formed and affiliated to the NYK- Pasighat to carry forward the campaign to every nook and corner of the district.

While volunteer Tomseng Taki explained the Dos and Don'ts to check the spread of Coronavirus, a group of volunteers demonstrated the manners in which Coronavirus spreads and also the ways to contain its spread in the society.
