Pasighat East MLA Kaling Moyong inaugurated Raneghat Riverfront Point

PASIGHAT: Pasighat East MLA Kaling Moyong on Saturday inaugurated Raneghat Riverfront Point 'I Love Pasighat', near the Raneghat bridge near here.

Among others, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Kinny Singh, SP Sumit Kumar Jha, ADC Tatdo Borang, Chief Councilor Okiam Moyong Borang, DTO (Tourism) Leena Perme and others was present on the day.

Speaking on the occasion, MLA Moyong stated that the district administration was doing great work and the riverfront point was a gift to the people by Deputy Commissioner Dr. Kinny Singh. He said the youths would get better chances of employment with the current development involving themselves in the tourism business in the town.

"Property once created must be protected and preserved by the people. Public should be more hospitable and work harder when it comes to improving tourism environment," he said. Moyong also advised the heads of departments to utilize government funds judiciously for robust development of Pasighat Township. "Land and natural assets, which attract a significant number of visitors also need to be better protected," added Moyong.

Deputy Commissioner Dr. Kinny Singh said, "We can prepare exciting strategies by customizing our services to the tourists to meet their demand. Moreover, it is important to note that tourism competitiveness primarily relies on developed infrastructure, connectivity, hospitality," she said, adding that the public along with district administration had to handle these issues in a planned manner.

She also informed that to promote tourism in East Siang, the district administration had begun constructing infrastructure funded by the tourism department and initiated by her under the Chief Minister's 'Innovation and Challenge Fund' in order to attract more and more people to visit Pasighat. "The centurion town is a very beautiful area and many assets are being created here under active supervision of the administration to make this place a point of attraction turning into a famous tourist destination," she added. She also appreciated the Urban Development department for quality work of the river front point and said that riverfront points would be upgraded with cafeteria, shops, huts, public toilets, pathways, storm water drains, fountain, zorbing track, trekking trails.

An adventure park is also being developed as a source of recreation and to attract tourists, added the DC.
