ITANAGAR: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Thursday urged the law professionals and legal luminaries to suggest ways to defeat attempts made by few vested interests to stall developmental projects by resorting to legal tactics and taking advantage of justice delivery systems.
Speaking at the day-long online national symposium on 'Justice Delivery Mechanism in India: Existing Concerns and Evolving Dimensions', organized by the Rajiv Gandhi University (RGU) Social Work and Law department, Khandu observed that people knock the doors of the Court for justice, but at times, there are people who are out to exploit the judicial system. Most of the times, they succeed in their malicious design that hamper developmental works and cause huge loss to the State exchequer," he said and appealed to the legal luminaries to discuss it and suggest ways to defeat such designs.
Governor Brig (retd) Dr B.D. Mishra who chaired the symposium, emphasised on sensitizing the different stakeholders of the society on the core values enshrined in the Constitution of India and engaging and enlightening them on contemporary judicial and constitutional issues.
He said that the letter and spirit of the Constitution, bears the great vision that inspired the national freedom struggle and constitutes the building block of socio-economic as well as the administrative fabric of India as a nation.
Dr Mishra called for strengthening the best practices for an ethical and equitable justice delivery system in the state by reaching the poor, forlorn and the ones in penury.
The symposium was attended by Chief Justice of Gauhati High Court Justice N Kotiswar Singh and Judges of Itanagar permanent bench of Gauhati High Court Justice NaniTagia and Justice ParthivJyotiSaikia, who spoke in detail on the theme.
